Here's a simple step-by-step guide to using DTF film:
1. Design and Printing:
First, design your pattern in the software. Then, transfer it to your DTF printer and print it onto the film. Low-quality film can cause ink mixing or smudging, ruining the print. For specific printer settings recommendations, see below.
2. Applying DTF Printer Toner
Evenly sprinkle a layer of hot melt powder over the printed pattern. Poor powder adhesion can lead to uneven printing or even damage to the pattern. Choose a DTF film and powder with good adhesion and ensure even powder distribution to avoid these problems.
3. Curing:
After powdering, the film must be placed in a high-temperature oven to melt the powder. The film should be able to withstand temperatures of at least 80°C.
4. Hot Press:
Place the transfer film onto the fabric. Then, apply the appropriate temperature and pressure using a hot press. Inferior transfer film may deform when heated, causing the pattern to distort. Therefore, using high-quality transfer film is crucial.
5. Peeling:
Depending on the type of film, you can peel it off immediately (hot peel) or wait for it to cool before peeling (cold peel). High-quality film will not damage the pattern when peeled off.
6. Before holiday promotions, we often pre-print many patterns. Many people store the transfer film for a period of time. Some transfer films will release oil stains or moisture over time, which will affect print quality. However, high-quality DTF transfer film will remain clean and intact even after long-term storage. Therefore, be sure to ask the supplier whether the transfer film can be stored for a long time before purchasing. This is a key factor in ensuring its quality.
